BetGames has been given a fresh permit in Ontario, officially entering the marketplace.
BetGames declared that it has obtained full registration from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
The permit will enable the live dealer provider to offer its collection to operators already working in the province. BetGames’ live lottery-style games and game show collection, such as Lucky 7, Lucky 5 and Entain’s exclusive game Starzle, have been highly successful.
The provider is the most recent to enter the quickly expanding regulated Ontario marketplace, which grew 64.8% to C$267 million in the second quarter from C$162 million (GBP104.1 million/EUR120 million/USD118.1 million) in the first quarter. The market, which is in its sixth month of operation, began on April 4, 2022.
“We are very happy to have received a supplier license in the Ontario market, which will allow us to expand our global reach and entertain new viewers with our casino, digital betting and sports betting products,” said Andreas Koeberl, CEO of BetGames.
“The regulated market in Ontario has enormous potential and we are excited to be part of it, joining the recent regulatory market boom.”
The company is certified by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and the UK Gambling Commission, as well as regulators in South Africa, to offer its products.
BetGames joins a group of other gaming enterprises, such as L7 Entertainment, World Series of Poker, Apollo, BetSafe, and Pala, who have recently obtained permits to operate in Ontario.
Beginning on October 31st, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) declared they will take action against any firms providing services in the province without authorization. The AGCO stated they will take appropriate regulatory steps against any company that does not meet the new standard once it is in effect.
