BetMGM is joining forces with Revolutionary Racing Kentucky to introduce sports wagering to the state. As Kentucky prepares to legalize sports betting, BetMGM is establishing both digital and physical sportsbooks.
They have collaborated with Revolutionary Racing Kentucky (RRKY) to unveil a BetMGM sportsbook at Sandy’s Racing & Gaming. This is projected to be a $75 million, 5,200-square-foot venue, and it could debut as soon as this autumn. Kentucky aims to initiate retail sports betting on September 7, 2023.
State officials have also suggested that internet sports betting will commence shortly after, with providers potentially beginning to accept wagers on September 28th.
“Kentucky possesses a rich history with athletics and its supporters are incredibly devoted,” stated Adam Greenblatt, Chief Executive Officer of BetMGM. “Revolutionary Racing is a perfect collaborator for us to introduce BetMGM in the commonwealth, enabling us to provide an engaging and ethical gaming experience while generating employment and substantial contributions to the state.”
Alongside the sportsbook, Kentucky’s inaugural equestrian and racetrack complex is under construction on 182 acres adjacent to Sandy’s Racing & Gaming. The initial races accessible to the public are anticipated to occur there in 2025.
Revolution Motorsports is thrilled to deliver a premier racing experience to Ashland,” shared Prentice Salter, Chief Executive Officer. “To elevate this even further, we are collaborating with industry leaders, including BetMGM, to provide online wagering opportunities throughout our venue and within our designated sportsbook lounge.”
This alliance with BetMGM is merely the first step. They aren’t the sole prominent player making strides in Kentucky. Caesars Sportsbook has already established a partnership with Keeneland and Red Mile, illustrating the burgeoning sports betting landscape within the state.
