The Danish Gaming Commission (DGC) intends to overhaul its regulations concerning the reporting of wagering information. Their objective is a system that is more transparent, streamlined, and facilitates closer monitoring of the gaming landscape in Denmark.
The proposed revisions are quite extensive. They desire more granular data on fixed-odds wagering, encompassing the specific odds provided and details about the events – such as nation identifiers and sports inventories. For simulated games employing random number generators (RNGs), the DGC seeks greater transparency regarding their functionality.
Poker enthusiasts, take note! The updated regulations also stipulate reporting requirements for various poker formats. Tournament and cash game earnings will necessitate documentation, and adjustments are being made to the handling of pool betting data. Furthermore, there are new mandates for reporting jackpot verification data, along with a few other modifications.
The DGC aims to implement these new regulations in 2025, although a precise date has yet to be determined. They will provide an adjustment period – a transition phase – once the finalized rules are disseminated.
Participants in the Danish digital gaming sector are being encouraged to provide feedback on suggested regulatory modifications. The objective is to guarantee that any revised regulations successfully balance the requirements of the industry with the supervisory aims of the government. This initiative comes a decade after Denmark abolished its state control over gambling in 2013, a decision that the Danish Gambling Authority (DGA) has viewed favorably.
